Voting Centers Now! petition passes 1,000 signatures

In about five weeks, more than 1,000 Denton voters have signed our non-partisan petition telling our elected Denton County Commission and the chair of the county Republican Party that we want countywide Election Day voting NOW!
We need THOUSANDS MORE SIGNATURES. Specifically, we need yours if you have not signed already! We also need the signatures of your friends and loved ones over 18 who are Denton County residents regardless of their political affiliation (or lack of one). This is NOT a partisan issue. The current situation harms Republican, Democrat and independent voters.
We’re doing this to get rid of the outdated Denton County rule that requires you to vote at your home precinct only on Election Day. During Early Voting, you can vote anywhere in the county, but on Election Day – when we use the same equipment and software – the county requires that you vote only at the precinct assigned to your home address.
This system sends thousands of voters racing around the county on every Election Day trying to figure out where to vote and how to get there before the polls close.
If you've already signed the petition, please share it via social media -- Facebook, Reddit, X, BlueSky, Instagram, TikTok, etc, or by email. This is a no-budget grassroots effort. We don't ask for dollars, we ask you to help us get petition signatures.
The next thing you should do is invest an hour or so of your time to speak in person to the Denton County Commission for up to 3 minutes at 9 am on any Tuesday morning starting July 29. You'll receive full instructions and even a sample speech you can edit when you sign up on Mobilize.
