Voting Centers Now! today started an effort to urge voters all over Denton County to speak to the Denton County Commission in support of countywide Election Day voting

-- Vote Centers.

This common sense Election Day change would give us the same voting rights on Election Day in our county that we have during Early Voting, just like Texas voters in 99 other counties.

Go to Mobilize.org to pick the date you want to speak to the Denton County Commission. Once you sign up, we'll send you all the info you need to speak briefly about this important issue. (If you want to be sure to speak at the same time as other Vote Centers supporters, sign up for the July 15 County Commission meeting.)

Commissioners have told us that opponents of this change often show up at their 9 am Tuesday meetings with wild claims about the "dangers" of countywide voting. This means we have to work even harder to make our voices heard.

Are you concerned that 10-15% of the people who show up to vote on every Election Day in Denton County are told they can’t vote in the first polling place they visit? On November. 5, 2024, this was 7,000 voters.

Does it bother you that thousands of your neighbors -- legally registered voters -- are told to go to another polling location on Election Day that may be miles away even if they can’t get there before the polls close?

Are you disturbed to learn that this DOES NOT HAPPEN in 99 other Texas counties?

Are you frustrated by the fact that our elected Denton County Commissioners could have solved this problem for the past four years and have chosen not to?

Tell them so at a Denton County Commission meeting, during the Public Comment period at 9 am on Tuesday mornings in the Denton Administrative Courthouse off Loop 288.

Signup to speak at Mobilize.org, then we'll send you everything you need to speak briefly in person to our elected commissioners.
